1. The Lord is King; let earth rejoice;
Let all the coastlands celebrate!
Darkness and clouds surround the Lord,
Justice and right support his throne.
Fire goes before him and consumes
His adversaries round about.
2. His lightning lightens up the world,
The earth sees and trembles with fear.
Like wax the hills before him melt,
Before the Lord of all the earth.
The heav'ns proclaim his righteousness,
All nations see his glorious might.
3. Idolaters are put to shame,
Who boast in worthless images.
All gods bow down before the Lord.
Zion's folk hear this and are glad.
The towns of Judah all rejoice
Because of your true judgments, Lord.
4. Lord, you're most high o'er all the earth,
Exalted far o'er other gods.
The Lord loves those who evil hate;
He saves their lives from wicked ones,
Light and joy dawn for the upright.
Praise God with thanks, you righteous ones.
