1. The Lord is King; let earth re-joice;
Let all the coast-lands cel-e-brate!
Dark-ness and clouds sur-round the Lord,
Just-ice and right sup-port his throne.
Fire goes be-fore him and con-sumes
His ad-ver-sa-ries round a-bout.
2. His light-ning light-ens up the world,
The earth sees and trem-bles with fear.
Like wax the hills be-fore him melt,
Be-fore the Lord of all the earth.
The heav'ns pro-claim his right-eous-ness,
All na-tions see his glo-rious might.
3. I-dol-a-ters are put to shame,
Who boast in worth-less im-ag-es.
All gods bow down be-fore the Lord.
Zi-on's folk hear this and are glad.
The towns of Ju-dah all re-joice
Be-cause of your true judg-ments, Lord.
4. Lord, you're most high o'er all the earth,
Ex-alt-ed far o'er oth-er gods.
The Lord loves those who e-vil hate;
He saves their lives from wick-ed ones,
Light and joy dawn for the up-right.
Praise God with thanks, you right-eous ones.
