PSALM 91:1-6, 14-16
METER: 11 10 11 10 11 10
SUGGESTED TUNE: FINLANDIA
This is the tune for the hymn "Be Still, My Soul."
1. One who dwells in the shel-ter of the Most High,
Who lives pro-tect-ed by Al-might-y God,
Will say to God, "My ref-uge and my fort-ress;
You are my God, in you I'll al-ways trust."
God will save you from the snare of the fowl-er
And from the dead-ly, stalk-ing pest-i-lence.
2. The Lord will cov-er you up with his pin-ions,
Un-der his wings you'll find ref-uge from harm;
His faith-ful-ness is like a shield and buck-ler.
Night's ter-rors nor day's ar-rows will you fear.
Nor need you fear dis-ease that stalks in dark-ness,
Nor the de-struc-tion that at noon-day wastes.
3. I will de-liv-er ev-ery-one who loves me,
I will pro-tect all those who know my name.
When they call me, I will give them my an-swer;
In trou-ble be with them to res-cue them.
I'll hon-or them with life that's long and fruit-ful,
And my sal-va-tion I will show to them.
