PSALM 86:11-17

This is the meter of such hymns as "O God, Our Help in Ages Past" and "Am I a Soldier of the Cross."
1. Teach me, Lord, to walk in your truth,
My heart to fear your name.
I thank you, Lord, with my whole heart,
I'll glo-ri-fy you e'er.
2. Great is your stead-fast love toward me,
You saved me from She-ol.
The in-sol-ent rise a-gainst me,
The ruth-less seek my life.
3. But you, O Lord, are al-ways full
Of mer-cy and of grace.
You're slow to an-ger and a-bound
In love and faith-ful-ness.
4. Turn to me, mer-cy have on me,
And give your serv-ant strength.
Save me, for I'm your faith-ful child,
Child of your serv-ing girl.
5. Show me a sign of fa-vor, that
My ad-ver-sar-ies see
And be a-shamed, for you, O Lord,
Have helped and strength-ened me.
