PSALM 85 METER: 77 77 D SUGGESTED TUNES: ST. GEORGE'S WINDSOR or MESSIAH This is the same meter as such hymns as "Come, Ye Thankful People, Come" and "Take My Life, and Let It Be" 1. Favor, Lord, you've shown your land; Jacob's fortunes you restored. You forgave your people's sin, Pardoned their iniquity. All your wrath you have withdrawn, Turned away from burning rage. Turn to us, O God our help, Don't be angry any more. 2. Will you e'er be vexed at us, Will your anger never cease? Won't you make us strong again, So your people may rejoice. Lord, show us your steadfast love, Let us see your faithfulness; Grant to us your saving help, Lord, deliver us, we pray. 3. Let me hear what God will say, For he speaks peace to his own, To the ones he calls his saints, Those who turn their hearts to him. Let them not be fools again. God will save those who fear him. Yes, salvation is at hand, And God's glory's in our land. 4. Love and faithfulness will meet; Righteousness and peace embrace. Faithfulness springs from the ground; Justice will look down from heav'n. God will give us what is good, Bounteous harvests we'll receive. Righteousness before him goes To prepare a path for him.
