PSALM 82
METER:  LM (88 88)
SUGGESTED TUNES:  GERMANY, TALLIS' CANON, or OLD 100TH
This is the meter of such hymns as "Where Cross the Crowded Ways of Life", "Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow", or "All Praise to Thee, My God, This Night"

1.  In hea-ven's coun-cil God does stand;
    A-mong the gods he judg-ment holds:
    "How long will you just-ice per-vert
    And fa-vor show to e-vil ones?"
2.  Be just to or-phans and the weak,
    The poor and low-ly vin-di-cate;
    Res-cue the need-y and the weak,
    And save them from the wick-ed's hand.
3.  They do not know just what they do.
    They do not un-der-stand at all.
    In dark-ness wan-der they a-bout.
    The earth's foun-da-tions shak-en are.
4.  I had said you were all di-vine,
    Yes, child-ren of the most High God;
    But you shall like a hu-man die,
    And fall from pow'r like a-ny prince.
5.  A-rise, O God, and judge the earth;
    To you be-long the na-tions all.
    A-rise, O God, and judge the earth;
    To you be-long the na-tions all.
