PSALM 81:1-10
METER:  77 77 D or 77 77
SUGGESTED TUNES:  MESSIAH or ST. GEORGE'S WINDSOR
This is the meter for such hymns as "Take My Life, and Let It Be" and "Come, Ye Thankful People, Come"

1.  Shout for joy to God our strength;
    Sing praise un-to Ja-cob's God.
    Raise a song; play tam-bour-ines,
    Harps and lyres shall sweet-ly play.
    Blow the trum-pet for the fest,
    For the new moon and the full.
    This is Is-rael's ord-i-nance,
    Giv-en us by Ja-cob's God.
2.  He gave it to Is-ra-el
    When from E-gypt he led them.
    "I heard you, al-though un-known;
    I took bur-dens from your backs.
    I re-leased your hands from toil;
    When you cried out, I saved you.
    From the storm I an-swered you.
    I tried you at Mer-i-bah.
3.  List-en, all, and I'll teach you;
    Is-rael, list-en un-to me.
    Do not heark-en to strange gods,
    Don't bow down to for-eign gods.
    I, the Lord, am your true God.
    I brought you from E-gypt's land.
    If you'll o-pen wide your mouth,
    I will feed you till you're full."
