1. Shep-herd of Is-rael, list-en!
Lead Jo-seph like a flock.
Your throne is on the cher-ubs,
Up-on your tribes shine forth.
Stir up your might-y pow-er,
And come to res-cue us!
You brought a vine from E-gypt,
And plant-ed it a-new.
2. You cleared out na-tions for it,
It took root and it grew.
It shad-ed all the moun-tains,
And might-y ce-dars, too.
It stretched from Sea to Riv-er.
So why'd you break its walls,
So pas-sers-by its fruit take,
And wild things hav-oc wreak?
3. Lord of hosts, turn back to us,
Look down from heav'n and see;
Have pit-y on your plant-ing,
Which they've burned and cut down.
May your re-buke de-stroy them,
But strength-en one you choose.
Save us, and we'll turn to you;
Re-store us, and save us.
