1. O God, the na-tions have come
Into your her-i-tage.
They have de-filed your Tem-ple
And wrecked Je-ru-sa-lem.
They gave your serv-ants' bod-ies
To be the food of birds,
The flesh of all your faith-ful
As car-rion for wild beasts.
2. They poured their blood like wat-er
And bur-ied not the dead.
Our neigh-bors rid-i-cule us,
They mock and they de-ride.
How long will you be an-gry?
Lord, will your wrath con-sume?
Pour your wrath on the na-tions
That don't call on your name.
3. Lord, do not hold a-gainst us
What our fore-bears have done;
Come quick-ly with com-pas-sion,
For we have been brought low.
Help us, God of sal-va-tion,.
That we may praise your name.
De-liv-er us, for-give us,
Be-cause of who you are.
