PSALM 66:8-20
METER:  65 65 65 65 65 65
SUGGESTED TUNE:  ST. GERTRUDE
This is the meter for such hymns as "Onward, Christian Soldiers."

1.  Bless our God, all peoples,
    Let your praise be heard.
    He has kept us living
    And not let us fall.
    God, we have been tested,
    Purified by fire;
    We have been entrapped, and
    Given heavy loads;
    You let foes ride o'er us;
    We've known fire and flood;
    But now you have brought us
    To a bounteous place.
2.  I will bring burnt off'rings
    Into your fair house;
    I will pay the vows that
    I made unto you
    While I was in trouble.
    I will sacrifice
    Fatlings to be burnt and
    Rams to give off smoke;
    Bulls and goats I'll offer
    Unto you, O God.
    Come and hear, you people,
    All who fear our God.
3.  I will proclaim to you
    What God did for me.
    I cried aloud to him;
    I praised him with songs.
    Had I held to my sins,
    God would not have heard.
    But indeed God heard me,
    Took heed to my prayer.
    I praise God, who did not
    Turn away my prayer.
    Nor did he remove his
    Steadfast love from me.
