PSALM 66:1-12
METER: 65 65 65 65 65 65
SUGGESTED TUNE: ST. GERTRUDE
This is the tune for such hymns as "Onward, Christian Soldiers."
1. Joy-ful noise make to God,
All that are on earth.
Sing his name's great glo-ry,
Give him glor-ious praise.
Say, "How great your deeds are,
Be-cause of your pow'r
En-e-mies be-fore you
Cringe and bow in fear.
All the earth gives wor-ship,
Wor-ship to you, God.
They sing prais-es to you,
Prais-es to your name."
2. Come and see, O peo-ple,
What our God has done;
Awe-some are his mar-vels
Done for mor-tal ones.
He turned sea to dry land,
Riv-ers they walked through.
There we re-joiced in him--
He who by his might
Rules forever, keep-ing
Watch on na-tions all
So that the re-bel-lious
Don't ex-alt them-selves.
3. Bless our God, all peo-ples,
Let your praise be heard.
He has kept us liv-ing
And not let us fall.
God, we have been test-ed,
Pur-i-fied by fire;
We have been en-trapped, and
Giv-en heavy loads.
You let foes ride o'er us;
We've known fire and flood;
But now you have brought us
To a boun-teous place.
