PSALM 5:1-8
METER:  SM (66 86)
SUGGESTED TUNES:  ST. THOMAS (WILLIAMS) or FESTAL SONG
This is the tune to such hymns as "Come, We That Love the Lord" and "Rise Up, O Men of God"

1.  Lord, listen to my words
    And hear me as I sigh;
    You are my God and King, O Lord;
    Please listen to my cry.
2.  I pray to you, O Lord;
    Each morn you hear my voice,
    I pray to you at rise of sun,
    And wait for your reply.
3.  You are not pleased, O God,
    When wickedness is done.
    No evil in your presence is
    Allowed to come and dwell.
4.  You cannot stand the proud,
    You hate all wicked ones,
    You crush the liar, and abhor
    The violent and the false.
5.  Through your abundant love
    I can before you come
    And worship in your holy house
    In reverence and awe.
6.  Lord, I have many foes;
    Lead me to do your will,
    Before me make my pathway straight
    That I may follow you.
