PSALM 50:7-15
METER:  88 88 88
This is the meter for such hymns as "Faith of Our Fathers" and "Eternal Father, Strong to Save."

1.  "Hear me, O peo-ple, and I'll speak,
    Is-rael , I wit-ness a-gainst you.
    I am your God, your on-ly God.
    I don't re-prove for sac-ri-fice
    Or off-erings burnt you bring to me,
    But I don't need your bulls and goats.
2.  The for-est an-i-mals are mine,
    The cat-tle on a thou-sand hills.
    I know each bird that's in the air,
    And ev-ery beast that's in the field.
    Were I hun-gry, I'd not tell you;
    All that is in the world is mine.
3.  Do I eat of the flesh of bulls?
    Or do I drink the blood of goats?
    Offer in-stead your thanks to God,
    Give him all that you've prom-ised him.
    Call on me in ad-ver-si-ty;
    I'll save you, and you will praise me."
