PSALM 43
METER: LMD (88 88 D)
SUGGESTED TUNE: HE LEADETH ME
1. Lord, be my judge, de-fend my cause
A-gainst those who are with-out God;
Save me from those who false-hoods tell
And those who do not do what's just.
You are my God, my ref-uge true;
So why must I re-ject-ed be?
Why do I have to go and mourn
Be-cause I am op-pressed by foes?
2. Send out your light, send out your truth,
Oh, let them al-ways lead me on,
That I may come un-to your house
And to the mount-ain where you dwell.
Then to God's al-tar I will go,
To God who gives ex-ceed-ing joy;
And I will praise you with the lyre,
O God, my God, I will praise you.
3. Oh, why, my soul, are you cast down?
Oh, why are you dis-qui-et-ed?
I shall a-gain praise God my help,
And I shall place my hope in him.
Oh, why, my soul, are you cast down?
Oh, why are you dis-qui-et-ed?
I shall a-gain praise God my help,
And I shall place my hope in him.
