This is the meter of such hymns as "Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow" and "O Master, Let Me Walk with Thee"
1. Declare me innocent, O Lord,
For I do what is right and true,
And I trust in you, Lord our God,
That I will not unsteady be.
2. Examine me and test me, Lord;
My heart and mind put to the test.
Your constant love is e'er my guide,
Your faithfulness leads me always.
3. I stay away from worthless ones;
Have naught with hypocrites to do.
I can't with evildoers be,
And I avoid the wicked ones.
4. I wash my hands in innocence,
And worship at your altar, Lord,
Singing you thanks, telling your deeds.
I love the home in which you dwell.
5. With sinful ones destroy me not.
Let me not die with murderers,
Those who do evil all the time,
Whose right hand always takes a bribe.
6. For I walk with integrity;
Save me and show your mercy, Lord.
You keep me, Lord, on level ground.
I'll bless you, Lord, among your own.
