PSALM 24
METER: SM (66 86)
SUGGESTED TUNE: ST. THOMAS or FESTAL SONG
This setting is of the same meter as such hymns as "I Love Thy Kingdom, Lord" and "Rise Up, O Men of God"
1. The whole earth is the Lord's,
And all who dwell there-in.
God found-ed it up-on the seas,
Built it on o-cean depths.
2. Who shall a-scend God's hill,
In ho-ly places stand?
Those who have clean hands and pure hearts,
Not false i-dol-a-ters.
3. They shall be blessed by God,
He'll call them in-no-cent.
Such are the ones who seek his face,
Who come to Ja-cob's God.
4. Lift up your heads, you gates!
Lift up, you an-cient doors!
The glor-ious King is draw-ing near,
O let him en-ter in!
5. This King, O who is he?
He is our might-y God,
The Lord, who in the bat-tle is
Vic-tor-ious o'er his foes.
6. Lift up your heads, you gates!
Lift up, you an-cient doors!
The glor-ious King is draw-ing near,
O let him en-ter in!
7. This King, O who is he?
He is our might-y God,
Lord of the hosts of earth and sky,
He is our glor-ious King!
