This is the meter of the hymn "Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah."
1. Praise the Lord! Sing him a new song,
Praise him with all faith-ful ones!
Is-rael, be glad in your Mak-er,
Zi-on, in your King re-joice!
Let his name be praised with danc-ing,
Play him songs on harps and drums,
Play him songs on harps and drums.
2. God takes plea-sure in his peo-ple,
Gives the hum-ble vic-to-ry.
Faith-ful ones, re-joice in glo-ry;
On your couch-es sing for joy.
God's high prais-es in your throats be,
In your hands be two-edged swords,
In your hands be two-edged swords.
3. God wreaks ven-geance on the na-tions
And to peo-ples judg-ment brings;
And their rul-ers and their great ones
Shall be bound in chains of iron,
That God's judg-ment be up-on them.
This is glo-ry to God's own.
Hal-le-lu-jah! Praise the Lord!
