This is the meter of the hymn "Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah."
1. Praise the Lord! Sing him a new song,
Praise him with all faithful ones!
Israel, be glad in your Maker,
Zion, in your King rejoice!
Let his name be praised with dancing,
Play him songs on harps and drums,
Play him songs on harps and drums.
2. God takes pleasure in his people,
Gives the humble victory.
Faithful ones, rejoice in glory;
On your couches sing for joy.
God's high praises in your throats be,
In your hands be two-edged swords,
In your hands be two-edged swords.
3. God wreaks vengeance on the nations
And to peoples judgment brings;
And their rulers and their great ones
Shall be bound in chains of iron,
That God's judgment be upon them.
This is glory to God's own.
Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!
