PSALM 148
METER:  87 87 D
SUGGESTED TUNES:  AUSTRIA, HYMN TO JOY, or BEECHER
This is the same meter as such hymns as "Glorious Things of Thee Are Spoken," "Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee," and "Love Divine, All Loves Excelling."

1.  Praise the Lord!  Praise God from heav-en;
    Praise God from the heights a-bove.
    Praise God, heav'n-ly host and an-gels;
    Praise God, sun and moon and stars.
    Praise the Lord, you high-est heav-ens,
    And the wat-ers up a-bove.
    Let them praise the name of Yah-weh,
    For God spoke and they were made.
2.  God es-tab-lished them for-ev-er,
    Fixed their bounds, where they must stay.
    Let all praise from earth the Lord God,
    O-cean depths and those there-in.
    Fire and hail, and snow and frost, too,
    Storm-y wind that o-beys God!
    Fruit trees, ce-dars, hills and moun-tains,
    Beasts and cat-tle, snakes and birds!
3.  Kings and rul-ers, ev-ery peo-ple,
    Men and wo-men, young and old!
    Let them praise God's ho-ly name, for
    It a-lone is lift-ed high.
    God is glo-rious o-ver all things.
    God has made the peo-ple strong,
    So the faith-ful peo-ple praise God,
    Is-ra-el, which God holds dear.
