1. The Lord is kind and mer-ci-ful,
Gra-cious and slow to wrath.
The Lord is good to all, and he
Has mer-cy on his works.
2. Those who are fall-ing he up-holds,
He rais-es those bowed down.
The eyes of all look un-to you,
You give them food when due.
3. Your hand you o-pen, and you fill
Each liv-ing thing's de-sire.
The Lord is just in all his ways,
And kind in all he does.
4. The Lord is near to all who call
Up-on his name in truth.
His faith-ful ones' de-sire he fills,
He hears their cry, he saves.
5. The Lord pro-tects all who love him;
The wick-ed he de-stroys.
My mouth will speak the praise of God,
His ho-ly name to bless.
6. Let all flesh bless God's ho-ly name
For ag-es with-out end;
