PSALM 145:1-8
METER: LM
SUGGESTED TUNES: DUKE STREET or MARYTON
This is the meter of such hymns as "Jesus Shall Reign" and "O Master, Let Me Walk with Thee"
1. I will ex-tol you, God my king,
And bless your name for-ev-er-more.
Each day I'll bless your ho-ly name,
And praise your good-ness ev-er-more.
2. Great is the Lord, great to be praised.
His great-ness is un-search-a-ble.
One gen-e-ra-tion shall de-clare
Your might-y works un-to the next.
3. I'll think up-on your won-drous works,
And on your glo-rious maj-es-ty.
Your peo-ple shall pro-claim your acts,
That ter-ri-ble and might-y are.
4. I will de-clare how great you are.
They shall pour forth your fame to all
And tell how good and great you are.
They'll sing your just-ice with loud songs.
5. The Lord our God is full of grace,
His mer-cy e'er is plen-ti-ful.
The Lord is ev-er slow to wrath,
A-bound-ing is his stead-fast love.
