This is the meter of such hymns as "Jesus Shall Reign" and "O Master, Let Me Walk with Thee"
1. I will ex-tol you, God my king,
And bless your name for-ev-er-more.
Each day I'll bless your ho-ly name,
And praise your good-ness ev-er-more.
2. Great is the Lord, great to be praised.
His great-ness is un-search-a-ble.
One gen-e-ra-tion shall de-clare
Your might-y works un-to the next.
3. I'll think up-on your won-drous works,
And on your glo-rious maj-es-ty.
The Lord is just in all his ways,
And kind in ev-ery-thing he does.
4. The Lord is near to all who call,
To all who call on him in truth.
He grants the needs of god-ly ones,
He hears their cry, and he saves them.
5. The Lord pro-tects those who love him,
But all the wick-ed he de-stroys.
My mouth will speak the praise of God.
Let all flesh al-ways bless his name.
