PSALM 14
METER:  SM (66 86)
SUGGESTED TUNES:  FESTAL SONG or ST. THOMAS
This is the meter for such hymns as "Rise Up, O Men of God" and "I Love Thy Kingdom, Lord"

1.  Fools say within their hearts
    That there is not a God.
    Corrupt and hateful are their deeds;
    Not one of them does good.
2.  The Lord looks down from heav'n
    Upon all humankind
    To see if any wisely act,
    If they seek after God.
3.  They all have gone astray,
    They're all alike corrupt;
    There is not one who does what's good,
    No, not a single one.
4.  Do they no knowledge have,
    The evildoers all
    Who eat my people like they're bread
    And call not on the Lord?
5.  There they shall know great fear,
    For God is with the just.
    You would confound oppressed ones' plans,
    But God is their refuge.
6.  O that deliv'rance would
    For Israel come from Zi'n!
    When God restores the exiled ones,
    God's people shall rejoice.
