PSALM 14
METER: SM (66 86)
SUGGESTED TUNES: ST. BRIDE, FESTAL SONG or ST. THOMAS
This is the meter for such hymns as "Rise Up, O Men of God" and "I Love Thy Kingdom, Lord"
1. Fools say with-in their hearts
That there is not a God.
Cor-rupt and hate-ful are their deeds;
Not one of them does good.
2. The Lord looks down from heav'n
Upon all hu-man-kind
To see if any wise-ly act,
If they seek after God.
3. They all have gone a-stray,
They're all a-like cor-rupt;
There is not one who does what's good,
No, not a sin-gle one.
4. Do they no know-ledge have,
The e-vil-do-ers all
Who eat my peo-ple like they're bread
And call not on the Lord?
5. There they shall know great fear,
For God is with the just.
You would con-found op-pressed ones' plans,
But God is their ref-uge.
6. O that de-liv-erance would
For Is-rael come from Zi'n!
When God re-stores the ex-iled ones,
God's peo-ple shall re-joice.
