PSALM 131

VERSION A
METER:  CM (86 86) or CMD (86 86 D)
SUGGESTED TUNES:  AMAZING GRACE or CRIMOND
This is the same meter as hymns such as "Amazing Grace" and "The Lord's My Shepherd, I'll Not Want."

1.  O Lord, my heart's not lift-ed up,
    My eyes aren't raised too high;
    I don't a-spire to un-der-stand
    Things far be-yond my grasp.
2.  My soul I've calmed and qui-et-ed
    Like child at moth-er's breast.
    O Is-ra-el, trust in the Lord
    Now and for-ev-er-more.

SUGGESTED TUNE:  OLD 100TH
This is the meter of “Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow.”

1.  O Lord, my heart's not lift-ed up,

   Things that are far be-yond my grasp.
2.  My soul I've calmed and qui-et-ed
    Like a weaned child at moth-er's breast.
