1. Out of the depths I cry to you;
Lord, listen to my cry.
Let your ears be attentive to
Me as I call for help.
2. If you recorded all our sins,
Who would not be condemned?
But, Lord, you are one who forgives,
So that we may obey.
3. My soul waits for the help of God,
And in his word I hope.
I wait for him--yes, even more
Than watchers wait for morn.
4. O Israel, hope in God the Lord,
For steadfast is his love,
And plenteous is his saving might.
He saves his own from sin.
