This is the meter for such hymns as "There Is a Fountain Filled with Blood."

1.  How long will you for-get me, Lord?

    Will it for-ev-er be?

    How long, Lord, will you hide from me?

    How long must I bear woe?

    How long must I mourn day and night?

    How long must foes pre-vail?

    Look on me, Lord, and an-swer me;

    Give light, or I shall die.

2.  Don't let my en-e-mies e'er say

    That they''ve de-feat-ed me.

    Do not let them gloat over me

    Be-cause of my down-fall.

    I trust you and your stead-fast love;

    I'm glad, for you save me.

    I'll sing to you, O Lord, be-cause

    You have been good to me.
