1. When the Lord set Zion free,
We became like those who dream.
Laughter filled our very mouths,
Our tongues rang out shouts of joy.
It was said through all the earth,
"God has done great things for them."
God has done great things for us;
God has made us very glad.
2. Bring our exiles back, O God,
Like the Negeb's waterways.
May the ones who sow in tears
Harvests reap with shouts of joy.
One who weeping has gone forth
With the seed that's to be sown
Shall come home with shouts of joy,
Bringing in the sheaves of grain.
