PSALM 126
SETTING A
METER: 77 77 D
SUGGESTED TUNE: ST. GEORGE'S WINDSOR or MESSIAH
This is the meter of the hymns "Come, Ye Thankful People, Come" and "Take My Life, and Let It Be"
1. When the Lord set Zi-on free,
We be-came like those who dream.
Laugh-ter filled our ver-y mouths,
Our tongues rang out shouts of joy.
It was said through all the earth,
"God has done great things for them."
God has done great things for us;
God has made us ver-y glad.
2. Bring our ex-iles back, O God,
Like the Neg-eb's wat-er-ways.
May the ones who sow in tears
Har-vests reap with shouts of joy.
One who weep-ing has gone forth
With the seed that's to be sown
Shall come home with shouts of joy,
Bring-ing in the sheaves of grain.
