PSALM 118:1-2, 14-24
For this psalm, I have three different settings available.

SETTING A
METER:  LM (88 88)
SUGGESTED TUNES:  TRURO or DUKE STREET
This is the meter of such hymns as "I Know That My Redeemer Lives" and "Jesus Shall Reign."
This setting will also work with HE LEADETH ME if odd-numbered stanzas are used on the verses and even-numbered stanzas on the Refrain.

1.  Give thanks to God, for he is good;
His stead-fast love en-dures for aye.
    Let Is-rael say, "God's stead-fast love
    En-dures for-ev-er with-out end.
2.  Hear the glad songs of vic-to-ry
In the en-camp-ment of the just.
"The Lord's right hand does val-iant-ly,
It is ex-alt-ed in its pow'r."
3.  I shall not die, but I shall live,
And tell to all the deeds of God.
    Though I have suf-fered pun-ish-ment,
God did not give me o'er to death.
4.  O-pen the gates of right-eous-ness,
That I may en-ter and thank God.
This is the gate of God the Lord,
On-ly the right-eous can come in.
5.  I thank you that you an-swered me,
    That my sal-va-tion you've be-come.
The stone the build-ers turned a-way
    Has now be-come the cor-ner-stone.
6.  This is the do-ing of the Lord,
And it is marv-elous in our eyes.
This is the day the Lord has made,
Let us re-joice, let us be glad.
