PSALM 118:14-29
METER: LM
SUGGESTED TUNES: MARYTON or CANONBURY
This is the meter of such hymns as "O Master, Let Me Walk with Thee" and "Lord, Speak to Me"
1. Hear the glad songs of vic-to-ry
In the en-camp-ment of the just.
"The Lord's right hand does val-iant-ly,
It is ex-alt-ed in its pow'r."
2. I shall not die, but I shall live,
And tell to all the deeds of God.
Though I have suf-fered pun-ish-ment,
God did not give me o'er to death.
3. O-pen the gates of right-eous-ness,
That I may en-ter and thank God.
This is the gate of God the Lord,
On-ly the right-eous can come in.
4. I thank you that you an-swered me,
That my sal-va-tion you've be-come.
The stone the build-ers turned a-way
Has now be-come the cor-ner-stone.
5. This is the do-ing of the Lord,
And it is marv-elous in our eyes.
This is the day the Lord has made,
Let us re-joice, let us be glad.
6. Save us, O Lord, we pray to you;
Give us suc-cess, we pray, O Lord.
Blest he who comes in God's own name.
From God's own Tem-ple we bless you.
7. You are my God, I give you thanks;
You are my God, I will praise you.
Give thanks to God, for he is good
His stead-fast love for-ev-er lasts.
