PSALM 107:1-9, 43
METER: 86 86 66 86
SUGGESTED TUNE: WORDS OF LIFE
This is the meter for the hymn "Wonderful Words of Life", although treated to allow a bit of irregularity in the actual number of syllables in some lines.
1. Give the Lord thanks, for he is good;
His stead-fast love ne'er ends.
Let his ran-somed ones speak his praise,
Those he re-deemed from woe
And brought from the lands,
From east, west, north and south.
REFRAIN (sing words twice):
Let those who are wise heed these things,
Think on God's stead-fast love.
2. In the des-erts some wan-dered 'round,
Find-ing no place to live;
Parched and hun-gry they roamed a-bout,
With souls a-bout to faint.
Then they cried to the Lord God,
And he saved them from mis-ery.
REFRAIN
3. He led them to a cit-y where
They all could dwell in safe-ty.
Let them thank the Lord for his love,
His deeds for hu-man-kind.
He gives drink to the thirst-y,
And good things to the hun-gry.
