PSALM 106:1-6, 19-23
METER: 88 88 88
SUGGESTED TUNE: ST. CATHERINE
This is the meter for such hymns as "Faith of Our Fathers."
1. Praise the Lord! Thank him, for he's good;
His stead-fast love al-ways en-dures.
Who can speak of his might-y deeds,
Who can de-clare his praise in full?
Happy are those who just-ice do,
Who at all times do right-eous-ness.
2. Re-mem-ber me when you send help,
When to your peo-ple you send aid;
That I may see your peo-ple thrive,
That I may share your na-tion's joy,
That I may glo-ry in your own.
We and our fore-bears all have sinned.
3. At Si-nai's mount they made a calf,
An i-dol that they called their god.
The true God's glo-ry they ex-changed
For a grass-eat-ing ox-'s form.
Their God, their Sav-ior, they for-got,
Who won-ders had in E-gypt done.
4. God did great things in E-gypt's land,
Won-ders he did at the Red Sea.
So God said he would them de-stroy
Had not his serv-ant, Mo-ses, stood
Be-tween God and his cho-sen ones
To turn back his de-struc-tive wrath.
