PSALM 105:1-6, 37-45

This is the meter to such hymns as "There Is a Fountain Filled with Blood."
1. Give thanks to God, call on his name,
Tell his deeds to the earth.
Sing praise and tell his won-drous works,
Give glo-ry to his name.
Let those who wor-ship the Lord God
Re-joice and e'er be glad.
Seek God and call on him for help,
His pres-ence al-ways seek.
2. Re-mem-ber the great things he's done,
Won-ders and judg-ments great,
You off-spring of him who served God,
Your fa-ther A-bra-ham,
And you, de-scend-ants of Ja-cob,
The ones whom God did choose.
He brought them out with so much wealth,
And yet the tribes fell not.
3. E-gypt was glad to see them leave,
They were a-fraid of them.
God spread a cloud to cov-er them,
And fire for light at night.
They asked, he gave them quails to eat,
And boun-teous food from heav'n.
He gave them wa-ter from the rock,
It like a riv-er flowed.
4. God kept in mind his prom-is-es
To A-brah'm, who served him.
He brought his peo-ple out with joy,
His cho-sen ones with song.
He gave them many na-tions' lands,
They took the peo-ples' wealth,
That they might e'er o-bey his laws.
So let us praise the Lord!
