This is the meter to such hymns as "There Is a Fountain Filled with Blood."
1. Give thanks to God, call on his name,
Tell his deeds to the earth.
Sing praise and tell his won-drous works,
Give glo-ry to his name.
Let those who wor-ship the Lord God
Re-joice and e'er be glad.
Seek God and call on him for help,
His pres-ence al-ways seek.
2. Re-mem-ber the great things he's done,
Won-ders and judg-ments great,
You off-spring of him who served God,
Your fa-ther A-bra-ham,
And you, de-scend-ants of Ja-cob,
The ones whom God did choose.
God sent a fam-ine to the land
And took away their food.
3. But God sent one a-head of them,
Jo-seph, sold as a slave.
In chains and neck irons he was kept,
Till what he said came true.
The word of God had proved him right,
The king had him re-leased,
And gave him rule o'er all his land,
Of-fi-cials to in-struct.
