PSALM 104:1-9, 24, 35c
METER: SM (66 86)
SUGGESTED TUNES: ST. THOMAS or FESTAL SONG
This is the meter of the hymns "I Love Thy Kingdom, Lord" and "Rise Up, O Men of God."
1. O bless the Lord, my soul.
God, you are very great;
With hon-or and with ma-jes-ty
You wear a robe of light.
2. You spread sky like a tent,
A-bove it built your home;
You use the clouds for cha-ri-ots
And ride up=on the wind.
3. The wind's your mes-sen-ger,
And fire and flame serve you.
You set the earth on firm sup-ports,
So that it won't be moved.
4. The o-cean's like a robe
Which cov-ered mount-ains up.
The wa-ters fled when you re-buked,
Your thun-der made them flee.
5. O'er mount-ains they did flow
In-to the val-leys low,
In-to the place which you had set
For them to make their home.
6. You gave them bound-a-ries
That they should nev-er pass;
They nev-er-more will be al-lowed
To cov-er earth a-gain.
7. How man-y are your works,
In wis-dom they were made,
Full of your crea-tures is the earth.
All peo-ple, praise the Lord!
