PSALM 104:1-9, 24, 35c
METER: SM (66 86)
SUGGESTED TUNES: ST. THOMAS or FESTAL SONG
This is the meter of the hymns "I Love Thy Kingdom, Lord" and "Rise Up, O Men of God."
1. O bless the Lord, my soul.
God, you are very great;
With honor and with majesty
You wear a robe of light.
2. You spread sky like a tent,
Above it built your home;
You use the clouds for chariots
And ride upon the wind.
3. The wind's your messenger,
And fire and flame serve you.
You set the earth on firm supports,
So that it won't be moved.
4. The ocean's like a robe
Which covered mountains up.
The waters fled when you rebuked,
Your thunder made them flee.
5. O'er mountains they did flow
Into the valleys low,
Into the place which you had set
For them to make their home.
6. You gave them boundaries
That they should never pass;
They nevermore will be allowed
To cover earth again.
7. How many are your works,
In wisdom they were made,
Full of your creatures is the earth.
All people, praise the Lord!
