PSALM 103:1-13
METER: SM (66 86)
SUGGESTED TUNES: ST. THOMAS (WILLIAMS) or FESTAL SONG
This is the meter for such hymns as "I Love Thy Kingdom, Lord" and "Rise Up, O Men of God."
NOTE: If using only vv. 8-13 of the psalm, use stanzas 5-8.
1. O bless the Lord, my soul!
All in me bless his name!
Bless him, my soul, and ne'er for-get
The things that he has done.
2. All your sins he for-gives,
All your dis-eas-es heals;
He keeps you from the grasp of death
And love and mer-cy gives.
3. He sat-is-fies with good
As long as you shall live
So that you re-main young and strong
Like ea-gles are re-newed.
4. God justly judges for
The ones who are op-pressed.
He made his ways to Mo-ses known,
His acts to Is-ra-el.
5. Mer-cy and grace he shows,
And slow to wrath is he
And full of con-stant love. He ne'er
Will chide nor hold a grudge.
6. He does not deal with us
Ac-cord-ing to our sins,
Nor pun-ish us as we de-serve,
So great his con-stant love.
7. His love is great to those
Who fear and rev-erence him.
Far as the east is from the west
He takes our sins a-way.
8. As par-ents pit-y take
Up-on their pro-gen-y,
So does the Lord take pit-y on
All those who fear his name.
