LUKE 1:68-79
This is the same meter as such hymns as "O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing" and "O God, Our Help in Ages Past"

1.  Blessed be the God of Is-ra-el,
    Who has re-deemed his own.
    He raised a migh-ty sav-ior up
    From out of Da-vid's house.
2.  He has ful-filled the pro-phets' word
And saved us from our foes,
    As prom-ised to our an-cest-ors.
    His cov-e-nant he's kept,
3.  As pledged to fa-ther A-bra-ham,
To save us from our foes,
That we might serve God with-out fear
    In just and ho-ly ways.
4.  Child, you will speak for the Most High,
To go and make a way,
So that his folk sal-va-tion know
    And have their sins for-giv'n.
5.  By ten-der mer-cies of our God
The dawn shall break on us,
To give light to those in the dark,
    And guide us into peace.
